Objectives

In addition to stimulating exchanges and cooperation in the scientific field, another fundamental issue for the EUR-OCEANS Network of Excellence is to foster communication towards society.  The Public Outreach Team, which comprises 10 European aquaria and the European Union of Aquarium Curators, aims to act as an interface between scientific research and the general public. For further information about the different activities carried out by the Public Outreach Team please visit us at: www.eur-oceans.info

The Outreach Team can also help to materialize scientist’s initiatives to promote EUR-OCEANS relevant issues towards a broad range of non specialized audience (the general public, scholars, the press, etc).

The team provides guidance, human resources and funds for the production of:

  • Films (application form available here)
  • Press releases (for workshops, events, highlighting research etc)
  • Press Conferences
  • Web conferences
